Richard Lowe Cox, Jr. is a planner and designer. He was raised in Asheboro, North Carolina, which is in Randolph County, which is home to the N.C. Zoo, Seagrove pottery, and Richard Petty.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University, majoring in English and Spanish. After working in both planning and design around North Carolina, he returned to school to earn a Master of City & Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He specialized in design and historic preservation, with additional emphasis on planning law and real estate.

Richard comes from a family of creative yet practical people. His grandmother, Nella Fae Lowe Cox, was an artist and musician, his grandfather a mechanic and farmer. His mother is an educator, his father an attorney. One of his brothers is pursuing a Master of Architecture at Columbia University; the other is a senior political science major at Wake Forest.

Richard is well-rounded, open-minded, and grounded. He draws from an array of experiences and an excellent education to provide his clients with inspired, useful work.
